Become a Governor

There is a set procedure for applications to become a governor.

All applicants are considered by the Governance and Search Committee of the Board of Governors against a person specification. Applicants are invited to attend an informal interview / chat with members of the Committee and their recommendations for appointment are then made to the Board of Governors. When considering appointments the Committee will use the findings of the latest skills audit of members of the Board to identify any skills gap.

In the event that the number of appointable candidates exceeds the number of vacancies a waiting list is set up. Persons on the waiting list maybe co-opted onto one of the Committees of the Board to gain experience pending their appointment as a full member of the Board.
