Welcome to The Manchester College’s new website. I hope you enjoy exploring the website and finding out more about an institution that I am proud to lead.
At The Manchester College, we never forget that education is about serving the community. We are not just an effective institution – we are a unique and special one. I strongly believe that our success is based on the culture of the college. There is a real buy-in to our vision and all our staff do their utmost for the communities we serve.
In education, the interface between the teacher and the learner is a very creative process. That interaction is at the heart of the college’s work.
As our communities change, we have to meet their needs and we do that in amazing ways. Consider our unique accommodation strategy – with our new-build projects, we create cutting edge learning environments yet still emphasise energy conservation and the green agenda, security and comfort.
We have invested greatly in our vocational facilities, bringing them up to and beyond the standards of those in industries such as catering and IT. I believe that the quality of the equipment, the quality of our staff, the demands of the curriculum and the support mechanisms we provide for our learners are second to none in any college in the UK.
Management in education is about leading people. At The Manchester College, leadership and management happen at every level of the institution. My job as a leader is to facilitate the ability of people to become leaders – leaders of other people, of services, of facilities, of students in the classroom, of students leading others.
Whether you are a prospective student, a current learner at the college, a parent or carer, teacher or business manager, The Manchester College is a powerful resource at your disposal and will help you to reach your full potential.
