What's the Japanese course about?

This course is ideal if you have a basic knowledge of a foreign language but you would like to develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. The emphasis is on communicating, understanding and making yourself understood. Topics are based around everyday situations, such as ordering a meal, booking accommodation, the world of work and the environment.

These courses are all classroom-based involving individual, pair and group activities. You can also take advantage of the Internet to access the many websites dedicated to language learning.

Please note, if you're not quite ready for GCSE level study, we also offer beginner classes in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish. Call 0800 068 8585 to find out more.

You will be assessed continuously throughout the year and will be required to sit the GCSE examination (foundation and higher levels) in May/June. Classes will run subject to demand.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

When you have successfully completed this course there are a number of opportunities for further study including GCE AS/A Level courses or ABC courses at Level 2/3.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

You should have a basic knowledge of the foreign language you wish to study and ideally you will have completed a beginners' course.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Japanese course?

You will be awarded a GCSE qualification by Edexcel.
