What's the Manual Handling Techniques course about?
This course is designed for employees who wish to undertake such training for their own vocational progression and also to allow the employer to meet the requirement of health and safety regulations.
Please note, this course can be delivered on client premises and group rates are available on request.
On completion delegates will be able to:
- Appreciate the basic requirements of the Manual Handling Regulations
- Appreciate the anatomy and physiology of the spine and how it can be damaged
- Appreciate the need to assess a lifting task prior to lifting and adopt any necessary protective procedures
- Appreciate the need for and undertake kinetic lifting techniques
A checklist will be used to assess a demonstration of each individual's lifting technique.

The Manchester College offers a wide range of occupational health and safety short courses, in addition to qualifications accredited by industry recognised awarding bodies. Please enquire for details.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
