The 157 Group of colleges

The Manchester College is a member of the 157 Group of colleges, which is dedicated to making a difference and creating a better tomorrow for business, the community and individual citizens.

The 157 Group emphasises ‘dynamism, confidence and authority’ and aims to achieve this by

  • working closely with partners, businesses and the community
  • understanding the latest thinking on FE
  • having a voice at national level
  • taking a proactive approach to current issues
  • engendering not only excellence, but all the benefits that strong, inspirational leadership brings
  • producing fulfilled, confident citizens capable of making a real contribution to the country’s economic development and productivity

Member colleges within the 157 Group work closely together, sharing ideas and resources to meet employer needs in the most effective way possible, and work positively with representatives of employers and business.
